Building plans

buildinsite1The new building siteDickey´s Orphanage was able to purchase 2000m² of land. They also bought part of the building materials. The architect has developed a design for the new orphanage. The children are happy with the new location and look forward to move before Losar, the Tibetan New Year in 2007. The orphanage staff are working with the constructors to help minimize the costs. The building should have a capacity to house 250 children. The most important thing is that every child will have its own bed.

  • 1 music room: here the children will learn traditional Tibetan and modern songs and dances.
  • 1 computer room: for at least 50 computers
  • 1 dining room and 1 kitchen.
  • Sleeping rooms: with 1 bed per child.
  • 2 slaapkamers: voor de baby’s.
  • 1 library: a room where children can improve their language skills and general knowledge
  • 1 office.
  • 1 teacher´s room.
  • 3 storage rooms
  • 2 Badezimmer: 20 cubicles, for boys and girls 10 each
  • 2 toilets: 1 near the dormitory, 1 near the classrooms

In June, Chinese authorities have given the official building permit for the new orphanage. They can go ahead with the plans as long as the financial support continues. Please make a donation and help build the new home. Thank you.
